The Home Depot
Autism Speaks and The Home Depot® will come together for World Autism Month to promote awareness and acceptance for individuals across the spectrum and their families.
With autism affecting an estimated 1 in 36 children and 1 in 45 adults in the U.S. and more than 80 million people around the world, the initiative will help increase understanding and foster inclusion of all children and adults with autism. In honor of World Autism Month, people around the globe are encouraged to pledge their support to the autism community by lighting up their homes or businesses. Much like Autism Speaks' logo uses a colorful puzzle piece to represent the diversity of experiences and perspectives of people with autism, Home Depot’s EcoSmart Color Changing CEC Light Bulb symbolizes the spectrum of autism, and encourages inclusivity for all people with autism. What started as movement to “light it up blue” many years ago, has now evolved to celebrating World Autism Month with the full spectrum of colors.
The EcoSmart 60-Watt Equivalent Smart A19 Color Changing CEC LED Light Bulb with Voice Control (1-Bulb) Powered by Hubspace are equipped with customizable light settings that can be controlled wirelessly via your existing network Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Equipped with tunable white technology, these smart LED bulbs can be set to any color temperature between 2200K (Warm White) and 6500K (Daylight Deluxe) so you can find the perfect color temperature for your space. These bulbs are also equipped with a full spectrum of colors to choose from millions of colors so you can create the perfect setting. Customers can purchase EcoSmart Color Changing CEC LED Light Bulb light bulbs at their local The Home Depot store and online at homedepot.com – in store, employees have found great joy in creating engaging and supportive displays during World Autism Month.
“Over the years, Autism Speaks has seen communities come together and show their support for people with autism by lighting up their homes and businesses. We are proud to continue that tradition with The Home Depot and a color changing light bulb honoring the autism community with the full spectrum of colors,” said Kelli Seely, Chief Marketing Officer at Autism Speaks. “Customers can shine a light on the strengths and challenges of autistic people, helping us to celebrate differences and create a brighter tomorrow for everyone.”
