GallopNYC will develop an innovative educational program for young adults with ASD, building on successful work with youth interns and with riders on the Autism Spectrum, which will adapt the benefits of therapeutic horseback riding to develop job and life skills. GallopNYC will use funds from Autism Speaks to pilot the program, as well as create innovative resources that will be made available to therapeutic riding centers and other service providers nationwide. Specifically, funds will support curriculum and resource development, therapeutic riding lessons, internship training, and intern stipends for a pilot group of 24 youth with ASD.
