This grant will provide employment training and support for individuals with ASDS, families, staff and other stakeholders. Training will include creative job development, skills assessment and information about starting a small business. Job development support groups will be created to provide ongoing training to find and maintain a job or to start a new business. for those starting a new business, there will also be access to a Microenterprise Specialist who will help expand knowledge and understanding of small business development. An Employment Toolkit will be developed that will guide individuals seeking employment throughout the process. the toolkit will provide planning tools and information on topics such as benefits management, reporting to Social Security and the IRS, tips to increase success at work, and other helpful resources. the Employment Toolkit will be made available to all through the Jay Nolan website.
