Who Can Apply?

This program accepts applications from two- and four-year colleges as well as vocational/technical schools and transition programs to provide scholarship funding to individuals with autism and to ultimately increase the number of participants on the spectrum.

There will be a strong focus on how the college or program conducts outreach to potential scholarship recipients and how the college or program prepares participants for post-college life, i.e. employability skills, inclusion, job placement, and transition to the workforce.

*Note: Individuals may not apply for the program. Autism Speaks encourages individuals with autism to contact colleges, vocational/technical schools and transition programs in order to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

About the Brian & Patricia Kelly Postsecondary Scholarship Fund

To help promote additional opportunities for young adults to pursue postsecondary education and ultimately increase the number of enrolled students on the spectrum, committed donors and autism advocates Brian and Patricia Kelly joined with Autism Speaks in 2013 to help create the Brian & Patricia Kelly Postsecondary Scholarship Fund. The goal of the Scholarship Fund is to raise $750,000 to provide funding to a select number of eligible two and four-year colleges, vocational/technical schools and transition programs within the U.S.

Brian and Patricia Kelly, parents of a 16-year-old with autism, have been dedicated to raising awareness of autism, advancing research and advocating for families and individuals on the spectrum through their support of Autism Speaks. Brian Kelly is a founding executive committee member of the Autism Speaks board of directors and the chair of the Autism Speaks Family Services committee.
