On Saturday, March 28th, 2020, Powerhouse Strong will be hosting the second Autistic Women’s Panel. The event will feature Haley Moss, the first autistic woman to be sworn in as an attorney within the state of Florida, as our Keynote Speaker.  The Panel will consist of five women from the Greater Atlanta Area, one from Texas and one from Tennessee, who have experience in employment.  Not only will each share their own journey on what employment has looked like for them, but also explain why it’s important to include individuals who live on the spectrum or have similar neurodiversities.

We are also looking to collaborate with organizations and companies. There is a large number of autistic adults and similar neurodiversity who are unemployed or underemployed. This is mainly due to a vast number of employers across the board who are often misinformed about the autism spectrum as a whole and often miss the mark in believing that one lives in their own world and cannot be reached. Luckily, there is an existing movement supporting neurodiversity, inclusion, and acceptance in areas across various communities. Among these are the inclusive practices of autism acceptance in which various advocates and self-advocates are collaborating to educate those same employers.
