Anyone who knows someone with autism or an autism spectrum disorder understands that he or she sees, hears, and experiences the world differently than others. But how does that reality actually feel?

Teaming up with the ‘Autism Reality Experience,’ ReClif wants to bring that to life – for professionals, health and social care providers, educators, first responders and families. Through a hands-on and immersive training simulation, participants will see the world through an autistic person’s perspective, to better understand and work with people living this reality every day.

The ‘Autism Reality Experience’ team out of Toronto, Ontario, will bring its high-tech mobile unit created to simulate the emotional and physical sensory challenges of people with autism. While undergoing a sort of ‘sensory overload,’ participants will be required to complete tasks without asking questions, or getting assistance.

The three-day tour runs March 1 through March 3.

The first day, March 1, is geared toward professionals seeking continuing education credits (CEUs). The day is split into morning and afternoon sessions – from 8 am to noon, and 1 pm to 5 pm. Early bird price up to January 31st will be $95. Beginning February 1st , 4-hour CEU course will be $115.

The shorter, 20-minute, sessions on March 2nd and 3rd run between 8am to 4pm, with a focus on families and those hoping to learn more and better grasp the ‘autism experience.’ Sessions will run throughout the day from 9 am until 6 pm. Early bird price is $56 until January 31st. Beginning February 1st, tickets are $72.
