Blue Horizons for Autism at Newark Airport!

On Saturday, October 1st, 2016, Autism Speaks is proud to be working with JetBlue Airways to host Blue Horizons for Autism, an event at Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey. that provides families in the autism community with the opportunity to walk through the airport experience in the most realistic setting to better prepare them for future travel.

The event will include checking in, walking through security and boarding the plane at the gate. Pilots and flight attendants will be on board to simulate the true on-board experience. The plane will pull away from the gate and back in so participants are able to experience the plane in motion.

The event will begin at 4:30pm and boarding will commence at 5:15pm. The event will conclude by 6:45pm.

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. Stay tuned for information about our next Blue Horizons events!

*Important: Please note that actual boarding passes will be printed at the airport, so the full name, date of birth and gender of each participant is required. Participants who do not provide this information will not be permitted through security into the terminal. Government-issued identification will be required for all participants 18 and older to go through TSA security. No ID required for travelers under 18.

The event will be capped at 140 people. If the timeslot fills up before you are able to register, stay tuned for information about future events!

We have created 2 resources to help you and your family prepare for the event:
