Monday, March 31, 2014 View Comments
More than 2500 attendees participated in the Hawaii Walk Now for Autism Speaks on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Ala Moana Beach Park (Magic Island). What an amazing day at the 11th annual Hawaii Walk Now for Autism Speaks walk event! With more than 2500 walkers, resource fair providers, sponsors, Geoffrey the giraffe from Toys R Us and Babies R Us, Mana Xtreme Cheerleading squad, Ohana Bounce House, Aloha Pops, Pt Suisse Crepes, Representative Bellati and our very own Lorri Unumb, vice president, state government affairs for Autism Speaks! We enjoyed our 5k (3.2) mile walk around the beautiful Magic Island at Ala Moana. Families were able to enjoy a fun/silly photo booth thanks to Phoenix Day Photography, Mermaid Kariel with her big clam shell met and took pictures with our families. Thanks to our local Hawaii Walk Chair Alexandrea Johnson for a great day that our families were able to come together!
To date, the event raised more than $60,000 in support of Autism Speaks’ mission to fund research, increase awareness and family services and advocate for individuals with autism and their families. Visit the Hawaii Walk site for more.
