Central Valley Walk Recap

Thursday, October 31, 2013 View Comments

The 6th Annual Central Valley Walk Now for Autism Speaks took place at Modesto Junior College - West Campus in Modesto, California on October 19th. The Walk had close to 3,000 people in attendance! To date the Walk has raised over $85,000 with donations continuing to come in!

This year's Walk featured a petting zoo and lots of kid friendly activities! Special thanks to Mike from No Limits Disc Jockey Service, MJC Animal Wranglers, the 501st Star Wars Legion and our Resource Fair vendors for entertaining us all. A huge THANK YOU to Walk Co-Chairs Denise Hannink, Michelle Rodriguez. Of course we couldn’t have done this walk without our hard working volunteers and partnership with Alpha Xi Delta!

A special thanks to our wonderful sponsors Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us, 51/50 Carlos Vieira Foundation, UC Davis Mind Institue, EJ Gallo Winery, Applied Behavior Consultants, Frito-Lay, The Modesto Bee and Clear Channel Communications Inc.

We’re so grateful to all of our participants who worked so hard for months leading up to the Walk and to those who will continue to work through year’s end to raise much-needed awareness and funds in support of our mission.
