Cincinnati Walk Now for Autism Speaks Recap

Thursday, May 30, 2013 View Comments

Saturday, May 18th was the 6th Anniversary of the Cincinnati Walk Now for Autism Speaks held at Coney Island Amusement Park. Despite rain in the beginning of the day, the sun came out and welcomed 6,000 walkers, 28 Resources & Service Providers, and a stage full of performers and entertainers. After the 2-mile walk and live performances, the families stuck around to enjoy a picnic lunch provided by John Morrell and rode the Classic Rides at the amusement park. A huge thank you goes out to our Cincinnati Committee for all of their hard work and dedication over the past year to produce an incredible event. We are all so grateful for your time, talent, and commitment to the autism community!

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to our wonderful Corporate Sponsors who made this Walk possible by donating money and In-Kind; many of them also formed teams. They are John Morrell, United Dairy Farmers, Kroger, Starbucks, Servatii's, U-Haul, Frito-Lay, Alpine Valley, and Chiquita Banana!

The Walk was wonderfully entertaining thanks to our MC Q102’s Jen Jordan.

Most of all we thank our families for coming out to support Walk Now for Autism Speaks and that someone you love and care about! Through your efforts by fundraising and reaching out we were able to raise just under $200,000 for our families in Cincinnati.
