Volusia County Walk Now for Autism Speaks Recap

Monday, November 5, 2012 View Comments

The 2nd annual Volusia County Walk Now for Autism Speaks on Saturday, November 3rd raised $102,000!  It had a good start by  beginning on the morning of Walk day at $91,000 - well above the $75,000 goal!  Just two years ago, this event began as an off-shoot of the Orlando Walk and has grown in to an established Walk of its own.   More than 1,100 people joined together to celebrate an incredible day for fundraising and awareness.

Thank you to our amazing Walk Chairs Tina Farbolin and Desiree Purvis who led our wonderful Walk Committee to a very successful Walk day. Thank you also to our national sponsors Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us and our fabulous local sponsors Honeybaked, International Speedway Corporation, Nascar, Massey, Dustin's Bar-B-Q, bright house networks, Pepsi Beverages Company and Joe's Crab Shack.

If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please contact Karen Bacharach at 407-4787-6330.
