It was a gorgeous day on Sunday, June 10th for the 2nd Annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks in London, Ontario. 700 people came out to show their support for the autism community, raising almost $46,000! This is a growth of $8,000 from the year before.
There was no shortage of entertainment on hand for families to enjoy – from mascots, Stormtroopers, bouncy castles, singers and balloon artist. The local fire and police departments even came out in support of the event, allowing the kids (and Stormtroopers!) to explore the fire engine and police cars. We also had the treat of watching one of the Stormtroopers riding around the event on a unicycle, with video camera in hand, capturing the enthusiasm and excitement of the day. You can check out his video here.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers, participants and local businesses and supporters that helped make the 2nd annual London Walk Now for Autism Speaks a great success.
