The 3rd annual Greater Waterbury Walk Now for Autism Speaks took place at Library Park, in Waterbury, CT on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Walk Co-Chairs, Alan and Helen Taylor, along with their dedicated committee, welcomed almost 2,000 people who are anticipated to end their fundraising year at $80,000 – well over their 2012 goal and bringing their fundraising totals over the past 3 years to almost $165,000.
This Walk is the perfect description of a community driven. Rain or Shine, or more RAIN – all walkers and teams came out and stayed! We had an expanded resource fair this year, more teams, more walkers, more money and fun. All the way until after 12noon all teams stayed, danced and did Zumba in the rain and could not be happier – even the therapeutic pony came out in the rain for this awesome event.
