The 7th annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks took place at Rentschler Field, in East Hartford, CT on Sunday, June 3, 2012. The Walk was organized by a dedicated committee and led by Noreen Simmons and Diana Yeisley. With over 8,000 people and an expected $450,000 raised, this Walk was a huge success!
The sun came out and stayed to warm the all supporters of our loved ones with autism. The grand club tent was full of our top fundraisers. A big thank you to Coach Jim Calhoun who spoke to the crowd.
A live 10 person countdown to the Walk was a new fundraising incentive this year, and really touched our teams and families. Our Greater Hartford Walk Now for Autism Speaks could not happen without dedicated volunteers, sponsors, families and teams; THANK YOU! It's not over yet though. We have many more events and fun continuing throughout the summer and fall – this community will be even more successful in spreading the Autism Speaks mission.
