2012 Central New York Walk Now for Autism Speaks Recap

Tuesday, May 22, 2012 View Comments

Sunday, May 20th was the 4th annual Central New York Walk Now for Autism Speaks held at Long Branch Park in Liverpool, NY. It was a picture perfect day.  Over 300 people were there to Walk and received information about autism from our Resource Fair vendors and service providers. Walkers were treated to breakfast and coffee from Tim Hortons!  Bounce houses and kid activities were enjoyed by all.  We had appearances by both Geoffrey from Toys’R’Us and the Syracuse Crunch mascot Al the Ice Gorilla.
The Central New York community raised over $40,000 for autism and the Autism Speaks mission! Special thanks to Walk Chair, Erin Mast, and committee members Sam and Rob Punch, Amanda Linnertz, Lisa King, Pam Glatter and Kim Schlie.  A big thank you to our dedicate sponsors LMG International, Wegmans Markets, Geddes Federal Savings, Romano Auto Dealerships, Excellus, Empower Federal Credit Union and Nice & Easy.
Thank you to our walkers and community for coming out on our new spring date to support Central New York Walk Now for Autism Speaks and individuals with autism! We look forward to seeing you again at our Walk in 2013.
