Thursday, November 10, 2011 View Comments

On a beautiful clear Santa Barbara day on Saturday, November 5th over 1200 walkers came together to join us for the 3rd Annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks at East Beach.

Walkers enjoyed plenty of family-friendly entertainment including face painting, tattoos, bounce houses and of course entertained and motivated by Master of Ceremonies and SB local Andrew Firestone.  The Walk also featured a Community Resource Fair with local service providers and other autism-related organizations as well as an Autism Speaks Information area.

We want to thank our sponsors Toys”R”Us & Babies”R”Us as well as our local sponsors the Hutton Foundation, GAP stores of LA District North, AB Design Inc, Young Construction, Montecito Bank and Trust, First Republic Bank, Invest West, Pacificahotels.com, Sheppard, Mullin, Richter and Hampton LLP, Wells Fargo Bank, Network Hardware Resale also our wonderful Media Sponsors of Parentclick.com, The Daily Sound, SB Independent COX and Felton Media Services.

A very special thank you to our wonderful committee led by Rebecca Ingram and all of the Walk day volunteers and participants that supported Autism Speaks and came out to support our families and friends that live with autism every day. This 3rd Annual Walk has raised over $134,000 dollars and counting!
