2011 Greater Hudson Valley Walk Now for Autism Speaks Recap

Monday, October 17, 2011 View Comments

On Saturday, October 15th over 600 walkers came together to join us for the 4th Annual Greater Hudson Valley Walk Now for Autism Speaks at Rockland County Community College.  The weather could not have been more perfect to walk around the beautiful campus of RCC.

Walkers enjoyed plenty of family-friendly entertainment including face painting, tattoos, bounce houses and performances by local entertainers Talina Toscano and The Bossy Frog.  Also joining us that day was Dr. Cliff Wood, President of RCC and Assemblyman Kenneth Zebrowski.   The Walk also featured a Community Resource Fair with local service providers and other autism-related organizations as well as an Autism Speaks Information area.

We want to thank our sponsors Toys"R"Us & Babies"R"Us as well as our local sponsors Crystal Run Village, Giant Leaps OT, Keller Williams Hudson Valley Realty and United Water.  More than anyone else, we would like to thank each of our Walkers who walked and supported Autism Speaks and came out to support our families and friends that live with autism every day. This year’s Greater Hudson Valley Walk has raised over $96,000 dollars and counting.  We still encouraging everyone to help that number grow even more to reach our goal of $118,000!
