Monday, October 17, 2011 View Comments

The 4th Annual Central Valley Walk Now for Autism Speaks took place at Modesto Junior College – West Campus in Modesto, California on October 15th, with 3,000 people in attendance! To date we have raised $90,000, with donations continuing to come in!

Special thanks to Mike from No Limits Disc Jockey Service, who served as our event emcee, and to Chester the Cheetah from Frito Lay, McGruff the Crime Dog,  Thor from the Stockton Thunder, Al the Almond from the Modesto Nuts, and all of the Community Resource Fair vendors for entertaining us all.  A huge THANK YOU to Walk Co-Chairs Denise Hannink and Michelle Rodriguez and the Central Valley Walk committee members for making this Walk so successful.

A special thanks to our wonderful sponsors Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us, Carlos Vieira Foundation, EJ Gallo, Applied Behavior Consultants, Kendall School, Central Valley Autism Project, BEST, McHenry Bowl, Tuff Boy, Construction Management Corporation, Stanislaus/Toulumne Counties Central Labor Council, The Doubletree by Hilton, and The Modesto Bee.

We’re so grateful to all of our participants who worked so hard for months leading up to the Walk and to those who will continue to work through year’s end to raise much-needed awareness and funds in support of our mission.
