The sun was shining on May 21st for the 2011 Wheeling Walk Now for Autism Speaks event in West Virginia. Over 400 people came together in this small community to support autism research and services. The Walk has raised over $40,000 with more monies still coming in!
The bounce houses were a source of great enjoyment for our teams as well as the many activities that were taking place in our Resource Area.
A highlight of the event was an 8,000 check presentation from Panera Bread in West Virginia to take the Walk over goal on Walk day!
This Walk event certainly could not have been done without the dedicated planning committee members, especially Tami Gallaher(member of our Grand Club), Erica Icenhower, Kathy Lichwa and Kelley Meneely. A huge thank you to every team, walker, sponsor and volunteer that made the 2011 Walk Now for Autism Speaks Day successful.
