Calls to Action

2010 Albany Walk Now for Autism Speaks

Tuesday, November 2, 2010 View Comments

On Saturday, October 30, 2010 200 eager students, families and community members joined together at SUNY Albany’s SEFCU Arena for the inaugural Albany NY Walk Now for Autism Speaks event.

The Alpha Xi Delta sisters pose at the Walk start.

The event was organized by Jaclyn Renner and the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta.  Brothers from Alpha Chi Rho joined the effort as did other fraternities and sororities on campus.  Special thanks to Team Josh and the UA Women’s Club Soccer for all of their fundraising efforts!

The Alpha Xi girls put on a great party with resource fair vendors, face painting and coloring stations and were joined by our Walk mascot, Geoffrey from Toys”R”Us.  The Walk has raised over $4,000 to date.

Thank you Jaclyn and Alpha Xi Delta members for your dedication and commitment to bringing this event to the New York Capital region! For more information, please visit our Albany Facebook page.
