2010 Richmond Walk Now for Autism Speaks

Tuesday, October 12, 2010 View Comments

On Saturday, October 2nd, over 1,400 people came together at the Richmond International Raceway for the 2nd Annual Richmond Walk Now for Autism Speaks.  With 128 teams, we raised $74,000 and counting for Autism Speaks. Chelsea Washington of WRIC TV 8 kept the crowd fired up while Virginia State Senator Donald McEachin (D-Henrico) urged the crowd to become more involved in autism awareness and advocacy.

After the 3 mile Walk, walkers enjoyed a special performance from the kid’s band The Diggity Dudes. A big thanks to Team Superheroes for autism for hosting our children’s area and Alpha Xi Delta for volunteering throughout the day. Thank you and congratulations to Walk Chair Pam Brooks and the entire Richmond Planning Committee! For more information and photos from the event, please visit the Richmond Walk Facebook page,
