On Saturday, October 2, 14,000 participants came to Citizens Bank Park to celebrate in the 8th annual Philadelphia Walk Now for Autism Speaks.
The Walk to date has raised over $700,000 with monies still coming in! The day was a great success and it’s due to all of our Walk committee members (led by Stacey Fliegelman), team captains, walkers, sponsors, service providers, and volunteers! We couldn’t have done it without you! The Walk was host to over 65 resource fair vendors.
We had great corporate presence and amazing in-kind food donations from Wawa, Frito-Lay, Starbucks, and many other area businesses. THANK YOU! Two of our corporate teams had a very large presence—Wells Fargo brought a team of over 150 employees, and the GTM Group brought 110 employees out to the Walk! We had a lot of great entertainment too – cheerleaders, a capella groups, beauty queens, mascots, clowns, jugglers, and dance troupes filled the ballpark! Some of our Walk teams were even honored on stage as “walk celebrities.”
It was a great day for all. For more information about the Walk, please visit our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/AutismSpeaks.DelawareValley.
