Why I Walk: To help boost autism research

WALKING TOGETHER…on April 2, Curemark joined Autism Speaks to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day in Pasadena, CA at the 2016 Autism Speaks Los Angeles Walk.  Curemark is thrilled to be partnering with Autism Speaks through a multi-regional sponsorship to support the Autism Speaks Walk program.

Autism Speaks has helped shine a light on autism and in doing so, has helped children and families in countless ways.  However, there is much more to be done to ensure that our autistic children, teenagers and adults live long, happy and secure lives.  This has been the focus of my work for the past 18 years and the reason why Curemark walks proudly with Autism Speaks.  As a researcher, my goal has been to find treatments that will address some of the core and non-core symptoms of autism, and thereby have a significant positive impact on quality of life.  Every day, we are touched by children with autism - through our clinical trial or at these Walks - and we are inspired.

- Dr. Joan Fallon, CEO, Curemark

Curemark has an ongoing clinical trial in autism for 3 – 8 year olds, known as the Blüm Study.  Curemark’s drug candidate, CM-AT, has received the Fast Track designation from the FDA.  Recruitment for the trial is ongoing at sites across the country.  For more information about the study or to find a clinical site, visit www.blumstudy.com.
