2016 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend a Success

Team Up! with Autism Speaks had a fairy tale good time May 6-8 at the Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim, CA for the 5th annual Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend. Of course there were many runners dressed in costume as the weekend’s namesake, joined by Peter Pan, Captain Hook and other Disney favorites.

Team Up! had 43 participants in the crowd running the 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and Pixie Dust Challenge. One of the highlights was the team dinner where a young man named Ryder talked about the video he made to support his brother Reece, who is on the autism spectrum, and how many views it is getting on the internet.

Our team raised more than $48,000 and included parents, professionals, friends, spouses and family pairs. If you’re thinking about doing a Team Up! race, look for a spot on our Berlin Marathon, NYC MarathonChicago Marathon, Marine Corps Marathon, Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend or Super Heroes Weekend teams!
