Super Heroes Across the Lifespan at Central Florida WNFAS's Kickoff

"For most of us, when we were kids, we all had some kind of Super Hero. Today...our kids are our Super Heroes!!"  With that message, guest MC, Paul Ramirez, kicked off Central Florida’s 2015 WNFAS Kick off Reception.

More than 175 registered & soon to be registered Walk participants attended the Kick-Off festivities at WESH-TV studios in Orlando.

The night started with a celebration of the success of the 2014 Walk- thank the teams, sponsors, and planning committee.  Sylvia Haas, Director of OCA, and one of her Heroes, 15 year old Laura, shared their story about the amazing impact of being awarded an Autism Speaks’ 2015 Baker Summer Grant. As well, Swimming & Water Safety grant recipient, Mermaid Aquatics, was recognized.

The evening culminated with the gathering of Central Florida’s Walk Committee to share their favorite fundraising secrets!  We were even encouraged to personalize our fundraising pages with the reading of one very successful personal fundraising letter.

A huge thank you to WESH 2 News Station for once again hosting us for the evening and to Jim Payne for stopping by to welcome the attendees.

The night was a tremendous success because of the work and dedication of the Walk committee!
