On September 4-6, over 25,000 runners and their cheering friends and families were at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA for the 10th Anniversary of the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. As with every runDisney race, many runners dressed as their favorite characters, including Minnie Mouse, The Incredibles, Tarzan, and Peter Pan.
Team Up! with Autism Speaks had a contingent of 50 runners, with 11 of them taking on the Dumbo Double Dare Challenge and running the 10k and Half Marathon. One highlight was at the team celebration dinner when Ethan, a high school freshman, talked about his older brother who has autism. He summed up their relationship by saying, “Dylan and I are brothers by blood but best friends by choice. I love my brother and I wouldn't trade him for the world.”
This dedicated team of parents, professionals, siblings and friends has collectively raised over $67,000 to date.
