3 Things I Want Others to Know About Living with Autism

This guest post is by Ricky who is an 11-year-old on the autism spectrum. He hopes this video below will encourage people to be more aware of autism in our community. This post is part of an initiative on our site called “In Our Own Words: Living on the Spectrum,” which highlights the experiences of individuals with autism from their perspectives.

Roxana who is Ricky's mom who sent us the video says...

Ricky was diagnosed with autism at the age of 18 months. In this video Ricky who is now 11 speaks about high and low functioning autism as well as the importance of early intervention. Ricky videotaped his message earlier this week to help raise awareness on autism in hopes of preventing bullying in schools.
