In Minnesota, we have had the never-ending winter. April has brought record low temperatures and near record snow totals. On Sunday, April 21st, our community came out of hibernation for a free and fun community event at the indoor Water Park of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. 1,200 of our friends in the Minnesota autism community came out to cruise down the waterslides, catch a wave in the wave pool, float in the lazy river and boogie board on the flowrider. There was a lot of laughter, smiles and squeals of delights as families played together.
Thanks to the Water Park of America, families we able to try a new experience for free in an environment amongst friends in the autism community. One of the moms at the event said “What a wonderful event! Our family simply doesn’t do things like Water Park of America because we don’t know how our little puzzle piece will respond. Well, he absolutely loved it and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!” A great time was had by all and many new memories were made.
