The ACA and Minnesota

When I buy my individual or small group policy, including through Minnesota's health insurance marketplace, will applied behavior analysis (ABA) be covered?

No. Minnesota enacted autism insurance reform in 2013, but the law does not apply to individual and small group health plans; in addition, the law was passed after the deadline for including the benefits in ACA health plans.

Where can I learn more about Minnesota's health insurance marketplace?

Your marketplace is called MNsure. Learn more here.

Did Minnesota choose to expand its Medicaid program?

Yes. Minnesota expanded its Medicaid program to cover households with incomes up to 133 percent of the federal poverty level. For 2015, that works out to about $16,105 a year for individuals or $32,913 for a family of four. Learn more here about your options.
