The ACA and Kentucky

When I buy my individual or small group policy, including through Kentucky's health insurance marketplace, will applied behavior analysis (ABA) be covered?

Yes. Insurers that offer new coverage to individuals and small businesses are expected to cover ABA. Kentucky imposes various dollar caps on the amount of ABA that must be provided each year. Because the ACA prohibits annual dollar limits on essential health benefits, insurers may be able to convert these into non-dollar limits (such as a cap on the number of sessions of applied behavior analysis each year).

Where can I learn more about Kentucky's health insurance marketplace?

Your marketplace is called Kynect. Learn more here.

Did Kentucky choose to expand its Medicaid program?

Yes. Kentucky expanded its Medicaid program to cover households with incomes up to 133 percent of the federal poverty level. For 2015, that works out to about $16,105 a year for individuals or $32,913 for a family of four. Learn more here about your options.
