NEW JERSEY: Make your voice heard on supports and services

March 14, 2016
The State of New Jersey is in the process of determining the amount of supports available for adults with autism as part of the budget negotiated between the Legislature and the executive branch.
The Governor’s proposed budget includes over $79 million in additional funding for community supports including waiting list reductions and housing vouchers. Now, the Legislature must review this proposed budget and will decide the final funding levels for each agency. Beginning this week, the Legislature will hear testimony from the public regarding what people want in the budget.
Now is the opportunity to tell your story and tell the lawmakers what supports your family needs the most!
People who want to testify may register online here or call the Legislative Budget and Finance Office at 609-847-3105 to register by phone. Those individuals presenting written testimony are asked to provide 20 copies on the day of the hearing.
