WASHINGTON, DC (October 4, 2013) -- The Interagency Autism Coordinating Council (IACC) has alerted stakeholders that its October 9 meeting has been cancelled due to the federal government shutdown. The October 29 meeting remains on the schedule pending further developments with the budget impasse.
The shutdown forced the closure on October 1 of the Office of Autism Research Coordination within the National Institutes of Health, and a suspension of IACC activites. OARC said it recalled staff briefly in order to email the announcement.
The full-day October 9 meeting had been scheduled to "discuss updates and issues related to ASD research and services activities, committee business, and updates from IACC members about current activities at their agencies and organizations."
