Indian Health Service host Autism Awareness Interagency Roundtable

April 23, 2018

On April 2nd, 2018, Autism Speaks celebrated World Autism Awareness Day by joining the Indian Health Service to present the first Autism Awareness Interagency Roundtable.

This joint-agency event brought together partners across the agency and department to raise awareness and showcase how each of the respective agencies address autism spectrum disorders.

Autism Speaks representatives described key themes related to autism public health issues, research, health disparities, and family resources in the United States and abroad.

Federal representatives shared agency resources, collaborations, and activities related to autism.

Following the presentation, speakers from Autism Speaks joined a Facebook Live video to briefly discuss signs and symptoms of autism, supports for individuals and families with autism through the Autism Speaks Autism Response Team, and service collaborations via the ECHO Autism Project.
