Autism Speaks and  Rangam Consultants Inc. Launch Employment Website for Job-Seekers with Autism and Other Disabilities

Site promotes inclusion by connecting employers with untapped talent

NEW YORK, N.Y. (April 30, 2015) – Autism Speaks, the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, and Rangam Consultants Inc., the New Jersey company specializing in meeting the staffing needs of Fortune 500 companies, today launched a website designed to connect employers with job-seekers who have autism spectrum disorders (ASD). is the result of a trailblazing partnership to promote inclusive hiring and to highlight the skills of a largely untapped pool of talent.

The site was built by WebTeam Corporation, a developer of cutting edge technology solutions for people on the spectrum, and its team lead on the project happens to be on the spectrum himself. The team developed with features that are especially useful to people with ASD, as well as to employers who are committed to inclusion.

Each year in the United States, 50,000 young people with autism reach adulthood, yet only an estimated 15 percent are gainfully employed in jobs that match their abilities. “Employment is a crucial part of allowing individuals with autism and other disabilities to live as independently as possible and contribute to their communities in meaningful ways,” said Lisa Goring, Autism Speaks’ executive vice president of programs and services. “ will assist them in finding the right job that will be fulfilling and rewarding to both the person with autism and the business that employs them.”

Like other online job boards, lets a candidate create or upload a resume, an easy way to match their skills, experience, interests and geographic location to posted jobs. What makes the site particularly suited to people with disabilities is a tool that enables them to upload a video resume and actually demonstrate job-related skills to prospective employers.

Hiring managers can help ensure a good fit by adding visual elements to the job listing. Those could include a video description by a hiring manager of the job opening or even just a photo of the workspace, in addition to written qualifications. Those visual features go a long way in relieving some of the anxiety involved in preparing for a job interview or adjusting to a new environment, which can be especially challenging for people on the spectrum. The site also connects candidates with service providers such as job coaches, if requested.

"Having ourselves benefited from hiring people on the spectrum, we realized we could serve our staffing clients even better and help the staffing industry serve their clients better by facilitating a way to reach the wonderfully talented people on the spectrum,” said Hetal Parikh, president of Rangam Consultants Inc. “And in Autism Speaks we found a phenomenal champion for this cause.”

Autism Speaks, Rangam Consultants Inc. and WebTeam Corporation have posted their own job listings on, along with those in businesses and organizations of all sizes, types and locations all across North America. Employers can quickly upload job postings at, where step-by-step instructions will guide them through the process. The number and variety of job postings will grow significantly, as will the pool of candidates, leading to a steady increase in successful job matches.

“We encourage other companies and organizations to post their job openings on in order to expand opportunities for individuals with autism and create a more inclusive workforce to meet business goals,” Goring said. “It’s a win-win proposition for employers and for people with disabilities, who have valuable skills to bring to the workplace.” is the latest addition to the free resources Autism Speaks provides for adults with ASD. They include tool kits for employment, housing and residential supports, post-secondary education, and transitioning to adulthood.

Gerald Franklin of WebTeam Corporation said, "As a user interface designer on the team charged with developing technological solutions for the spectrum community -- and being on the spectrum myself -- I am excited by how well our developments like are positioned to serve this community.”
