Planning for a Successful School Year for Your Dallas-Fort Worth Student with Autism

September 9, 2021 at 10:00 am - September 9, 2021 at 11:00 am
Online Event

While the webinar features a Dallas-Fort Worth speaker, all Texans are invited to attend, because special education laws and policies that affect students throughout the state will be discussed.

For this live virtual event, Shemica S. Allen of Personalized Learning Solutions, a DFW-based special education and advocacy organization, will guide participants on the process of reviewing their student’s education plan for the new school year and how to advocate for improvements to it. Ms. Allen will help parents and caregivers understand how unique this school year will be, because of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and how to plan for and address student learning loss. Christa Stevens, Director of State Government Affairs at Autism Speaks, will also provide an update on new laws and policies that affect special education in Texas. The event will include time for participants to ask questions.

Our Autism Response Team (ART) is specially trained to connect people with autism, their families, and caretakers to information, tools, and resources.
