Denise Claycomb: First Charity Miler to Reach 2,000 Miles!

Denise Claycomb runs 13 miles a day for Autism Speaks. A few weekends ago, the Charity Miles team went to her home in Pennsylvania to surprise her, as that weekend she would become the first user to reach 2,000 miles. We couldn't be prouder of Denise, or more in awe of her efforts to help Autism Speaks. Congrats, Denise!

My Name is David

My Name is David is an animated short film from one of the animators of Robot Chicken, Matt Manning, that depicts a young student's speech to his fellow classmates about his autism. The film features the actual words and voice of the author of the speech,14-year-old David Shapiro Sharif. Sharif's speech aims not only to educate children and adults about autism but also to give a voice to the more than one million young men and women with autism in schools throughout the country. Military Families: Let Congress Hear Your Voice!

On January 31, military families will get their chance to tell Congress about the special challenges they face raising children with autism.

Many military parents will be in the audience. But many more will be unable to make it to Washington for the briefing. Autism Speaks believes their voices need to be heard as well. We are making it possible for these military families to record a brief story about their experiences and upload it to our YouTube page.

We will share as many of these videos as possible with Congress, including airing portions of them during the meeting.
