In this episode I feature our partnership with Build-A-Bear as we get ready to release our very first Autism Speaks Build-A-Bear on March 27th! To highlight the release we had a special sneak peak for several families at The Build-A-Bear Workshop in New York City. Each family got to participate in events which ended up with all of them leaving with their very own bear.

In this episode, I feature Walk Now for Autism Speaks, an initiative to raise funds and awareness for autism. In this episode I discuss my experience with the walks and how being involved has helped build my voice in the autism community. This will be my 6th year participating in The North Central New Jersey Walk.

Carly is nonverbal and relies on her iPad to communicate which has led to a debate amongst the autism community when it comes to accommodations. In this episode I feature an opportunity I had to speak about "Living with Autism" at Dover International Speedway for NASCAR's FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks Event in Dover, Delaware. Autism Speaks on this day held their first annual "Autism Speaks Day at the Races", the first-ever autism friendly viewing experience for NASCAR fans. Families got to experience this race in an environment specifically designed for the enjoyment of children with autism.
