The Home Depot® partnered with Autism Speaks for the second straight year in 2012 to shine a light on autism during Autism Awareness Month in April and World Autism Awareness Day on April 2. The Home Depot® sold blue LED lanterns and blue light bulbs offering people across the country the opportunity to raise autism awareness through Autism Speaks' Light It Up Blue initiative. The specially marked Light It Up Blue products and bulbs were available throughout all of their stores in the United States and Canada from March 15 through the end of April. A portion of each sale went to Autism Speaks. The campaign raised $245,000 this year and almost $500,000 in its first two years.
