Southern New England Walk Now for Autism Raises $265,000

On Sunday, September 21, 4,500 people raised $265,000 at the 6th annual Southern New England Walk Now for Autism hosted at Colt State Park, its new oceanfront venue in Bristol, R.I.

A number of local luminaries participated in the Walk including members of the University of Rhode Island baseball team, Paws, the Pawtucket Red Sox' mascot, Blades, the Boston Bruins' mascot and Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), who spoke about his hopes for the future of people who have autism.

The resource fair showcased five organizations and companies, including MetLife, FEAT/Autism Project of Rhode Island and National Walk Now for Autism Sponsor Toys”R”Us, which not only showcased its autism-friendly toys, but also handed out free toys to walkers!

Many generous sponsors contributed to the success of the Southern New England Walk Now for Autism, including Coca-Cola, Nutricia and Arico Foods

Walkers enjoyed the new Walk location at Colt State Park.
