New Hampshire Walk Now for Autism Doubles Attendance
The 6th annual New HampshireWalk Now for Autism took place Greeley Park in Nashua, N.H., on Sunday, Oct. 5. The Walk, held under rain free skies for the first time in two years, attracted 1,000 participants and raised more than $160,000, $30,000 more than in 2007.

Prior to the Walk, Kristine Musto sang a song she wrote for her brother AJ, who has autism. Local band Ski and the 99ers performed throughout the day. Walkers enjoyed pumpkin decorating and voting in a t-shirt contest. Participants also received gift cards for local restaurants and stores, and trinkets as they crossed the finish line. A number of local luminaries participated in the Walk including former N.H. congressman Jeb Bradley, Molly Ola Pinney, the founder and director of the Global Autism Project, and Miss New Hampshire, Brianne Silvi.

The event also included a resource fair which featured a lineup of seven local organizations and companies: MetDesk, Usborne Books, Maximum Potential, Arbonne International, CARD NE, Customize Your Life, and Roman Music Therapy Services.

A number of generous sponsors contributed to the success of the New Hampshire Walk, including Coca Cola, Arico Foods, Panera Bread, Trader Joe's, Hint and Bachman – which all provided food and refreshments for walkers. DCU (Digital Federal Credit Union) had a van onsite with an ATM and a prize wheel that the kids could spin to win for prizes. Special thanks to Walk Chairs Susan Parker and Kristine McCarthy for making this Walk so successful.
