Long Island Walk Holds Enthusiastic 2007 Kick Off
The 8th Annual Long Island Walk Now for Autism Kick Off Luncheon was a rousing success, attracting 452 supporters -- surpassing last year's attendance of 435 -- to the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY, on Monday, July 30, 2007. Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy (D -NY) served as a guest speaker and continues in her role as Long Island's Honorary Walk Chair. WCBS NewsRadio weather anchor Craig Allen served as an entertaining emcee. Among the walk sponsors recognized at the event wereToys "R" Us, Jewelers for Children, NS-LIJ Health System, T.G.I. Friday's and the Frank J. Antun Foundation. In 2006, 20,000 participants were on hand as the Long Island Walk raised a record-breaking two million dollars. The 2007 Walk is scheduled for Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Jones Beach State Park. Visit the Long Island Walk site or visit the Walk Now for Autism site to find a walk in your area.
