Second Weekend in June Another Huge Walk Fundraising Success Click here for a photo gallery from the spring and summer walks
Thanks to thousands of dedicated walkers, Autism Speaks is on its way to celebrating a record-breaking summer. Walk Now For Autism hosted seven walks over the June 9-10 weekend and, although the fundraising totals are still being pulled together from the events, participant and staff reports indicate another phenomenal success to raise awareness and funds for autism research.

The Westchester-Fairfield, NY/CT Walk on Sunday, June 10, is expected to raise $1.2 million, when all donations are tallied. The walk had an estimated 10,000 participants.
Greater Hartford, CT raised $400,000 from 4000 participants with NBC 30 giving home page coverage of the walk. They also have an extensive slideshow on the nbc30.com site.
The San Francisco, CA Walk on Saturday, June 9, has raised over $375,000 from 3000 walkers (and they haven't finished counting!)
Southern NJ, held on Saturday, June 9, has raised over $260,000 with the help of some 5000 participants.
Des Moines, IA, also held on Saturday, June 9 has raised $125,000 through the work of its 1,300 walkers. Event coverage, including on-the-ground video highlights, will be up soon.
Blair County in Altoona, PA raised over $54,000 among some 700 supporters.
Wheeling, WV raised over $36,000 with its 400 participants.
