Houston Walk Now for Autism Raises Nearly $300,000

More than 3,500 people attended the 5th annual Houston Walk Now for Autism at Reliant Stadium, home of the Houston Texans of the National Football League. Walkers on over 350 teams raised nearly $300,000.

Leslie T. Travis, KILT-FM 100.3 deejay, served as the Walk's emcee. Musical entertainment was provided by local band Runaway Sun, and Garrett Gerrard, who performed the national anthem while The University of Houston presented the colors. Families enjoyed activities such as face painting and a pumpkin patch, as well as arts and crafts. Children met Geoffrey the Giraffe, Buddy from HEB and Storm Troopers. Also in attendance was Houston Texans' guard Scotty Jackson.

The resource fair featured 17 participating companies and organizations including Autism Treatment Network site Texas Children's Hospital, The Westview School, The Monarch School, Winter Pediatric and Sensory Solutions. Special thanks to the many
