Greater Boston Kickoff Attracts over 300 Attendees
The 3rd Annual Greater Boston Kickoff event took place at the Café Escadrille in Burlington, MA. Over 300 new and returning walkers came to learn about what the organization has been working on and the plans for this year's walk. Lisa Gallipoli of Autism Speaks addressed the organization's plans for the future and Dr. Margaret Bauman, an autism researcher, spoke about programs like the Autism Treatment Network and IAN. Special guest Evelyne Milorin spoke to the attendees about the importance of advocating for your affected loved one and never settling for less. Carl Beane, the voice of the Boston Red Sox, was on hand as the emcee, providing humor and warmth to the event. The 2007 walk is scheduled for Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Suffolk Downs in East Boston. Visit the Greater Boston Walk site or visit the Walk Now for Autism site to find a walk in your area.
