Georgia Walk for Autism Awards Ceremony
The Georgia Walk for Autism celebrated its successes at Zoo Atlanta, on August 17th. Over 500 team captains, volunteers and sponsors were honored with an awards presentation, dinner and dancing. Lisa Gallipoli, Autism Speaks National Director of Field Operations and Dr. John Lutzker, Executive Director of the Marcus Institute, explained how the funds raised through the Walk program were already being implemented both locally and on a national level. The Georgia Walk for Autism took place on May 19, 2007 in Atlantic Station. The event drew over 18,000 participants and raised more than $1.3 million for autism research and treatment.
