Bay Area Walk Now for Autism
On Saturday, May 30, 3,500 people gathered at History Park at Kelley Park in San Jose, Calif. for the seventh annual Bay Area Walk Now for Autism, raising over $225,000. Special guests at the Walk included San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed and Toys”R”Us' Geoffrey the Giraffe, who helped kick off the event. Walkers also had the opportunity to meet Gigante from the San Jose Giants, members of the San Jose Horse Mounted Patrol and Ryan Cochrane from the San Jose Earthquakes, who signed autographs. Denver Walk Now for Autism
More than 3,500 participants came out in support of the sixth annual Denver Walk Now for Autism, held at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. The Walk was led by a drum line who marched an entire mile. In addition to a resource fair with more than 20 local organizations and companies, walkers enjoyed family-friendly activities including a bubble tower and a face-painter. More than 30 Grand Club members enjoyed special perks, including massages, for raising more than $1,000.
Walkers enjoyed many activities at the Denver Walk – especially the bubble tower.
Congratulations to Walk Chair Pam Cozard for the success of the Walk, which raised $225,000. Read more and view additional photos here.
Wheeling Walk Now for Autism
Unlike last year's stormy weather, the sun was shining in Wheeling, W.Va. when 450 people walked the Warwood Trail for the fifth annual Walk Now for Autism. The Wheeling Walk, which enjoys great community support, benefited from many in-kind donations from generous local vendors. Congratulations to Walk Chairs Ellen Cicconi and Erica Icenhowser and their planning committee for shepherding the Wheeling Walk, which raised nearly $33,000.
