Autism Speaks celebrated its first Autism Speaks to Young Professionals night at the New York Stock Exchange on August 5, 2009. Over 700 young professionals from all industries joined event co-chairs Amanda Niederauer and Danny Ryan, Autism Speaks President Mark Roithmayr, and Olympic gold medal winning gymnast Dominique Dawes on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for an evening of cocktails, music, and awareness-raising for Autism Speaks.

The first event of its kind for the organization, the Young Professionals reception was so popular that tickets sold out three days before the event and raised nearly $40,000. Many thanks to our sponsors Manhattan Beer Distributors, New Age Imports, Montecastelli Selections, Empire Merchants, and Chatham Imports – we couldn't have done this without their fantastic beverage donations. Guests enjoyed the sounds of DJs Caleb Loftus and Nick Russo, and also had an additional treat of being able to have their photo taken on the historic NYSE bell podium, with photos printed out on the premises for partygoers to bring home with them at night's end.
Amanda, Danny and Dominique all spoke about their personal experiences with family members who are living with autism and encouraged guests to become more involved with Autism Speaks. Special thanks to our co-chairs, committee members, guests, and the New York Stock Exchange!
