Stars from the sports and entertainment industries joined Autism Speaks at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y., for the Eighth Annual New York Celebrity Golf Challenge on July 10, 2006.

The tournament raised over $1,000,000 to benefit children and adults with autism. Among the stars who participated in the day's events were former New York Giant Howard Cross; actor Aidan Quinn, James McCaffrey of Rescue Me, WB11 News anchor Jim Watkins, Dateline's Stone Phillips, NBC sportscaster Jimmy Roberts, CBS Late Night announcer Alan Kalter, The Big Idea's Donny Deutsch, Baskeball Hall of Famer Gail Goodrich, former New York Rangers Rod Gilbert and Gilles Villemure, Fox5 Meteorologist Nick Gregory, CNBC news anchor Joe Kernen, and CNBC Managing Editor Tyler Mathisen.

This year's guests had the unique opportunity to be the first to play the club's championship West Course after the 2006 U.S. Open. Following the tournament, guests enjoyed cocktails and dinner at the evening reception. The evening ended with a live auction hosted by Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
