Golf Challenge Raises $430K, Draws Celebs

Autism Speaks' Fourth Annual L.A. Celebrity Golf Challenge on March 26, 2007, raised close to $430,000 and brought out celebrities from the entertainment and sports world, including actor Joe Mantegna and MTV's Carson Daly. Held at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., the golfing event included a celebrity putting contest, as well as an evening gala that included a live and silent auction, and entertainment from comedian Gary Cannon and country rock group Flynville Train. Also on hand to help raise funds for autism research, awareness and advocacy were sports and entertainment celebrities Julie and Shawnie Costello, and Molly Culver, Eagles guitarist Don Felder, “Amazing Race” winner Nick Linz, TV actor David Marciano, “Prison Break” star Amaury Nolasco, professional beach volleyball player Sinjin Smith and TV/movie actor D.B. Sweeney
