The Long Island Walk For Autism Research raised an unprecedented $1.55 million and drew more than 20,000 attendees to Jones Beach in Wantagh, N.Y., on Oct. 22, 2006. Shown above are Autism Speaks Co-founder Suzanne Wright (at center, with black jacket), along with Long Island Walk organizers and volunteers, including Walk Co-Chairs Carole Mirkin (far left) and Michael Giangregorio (left of Wright), Youth Walk Co-Chairs Michelle Doscas (second from left in front row) and Tom Boehm (second row in red), and Autism Speaks Board Member Eric London (right of Boehm, partly obscured).
